Since the series starts off without certain characters being in prison they make the most of it. I always loved Michael more in the original series but the new season has a real shot of Lincoln becoming the fan favorite. The other Prison Break characters do show up around the edges but this premiere is very much Lincoln’s story and it’s damn compelling. Some fans will point out the series has already done Lincoln trying to break Michael out of prison in season three but the key difference here? It actually works because the story is focused on Lincoln. There’s a scene in this episode that may be some of Purcell’s finest acting work to date and it’s all done without any dialogue. It’s kind of shocking after seeing him as a borderline cartoon character on Legends of Tomorrow to be back in such a dramatic role but it works. To do this Michael isn’t in the premiere as much as some fans might like, but it totally works because Dominic Purcell carries the whole episode. The magic of Prison Break was keeping you hooked and wondering, “how will they get out of this?” Well this season looks like it’ll finally be able to up the ante. Prison Break is available for you to stream online on Hulu. One line sucks you in and makes you want to keep watching. Prison Break has a total of five seasons and 90 episodes throughout the span.
